Correction – Matthew 21:45-46

Matthew 21:45-46

43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”

45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them.

46 They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.

Reflections: Insights on Matthew 21:43-46

When Jesus spoke in parables, a frequent response we often see from the Pharisees and chief priests was anger, feeling threatened by his words and teachings as he highlighted their own actions and what they needed to change.

As a Christian, there may be times when we read words of discipline and correction from the Bible and as a result, become resistant and defensive. Ultimately when that occurs, God and Jesus are inviting us to change, to improve, to be better than where we’re currently at, seeing our true potential.
